Graduated early from C25K - Intro

So, before moving onto week 3 of the C25K program I started running one day and didn't stop for about 35 minutes... I looked down at my GPS and it turned out I had run 5K!

I was psyched, but I knew it meant C25K is probably not the right program for me, so I was directed here by a bunch of C25K grads. I just got the Bridge To 10K app today and I'm looking forward to trying it out after work!!

So I started W1D1 yesterday. It was tough. Not really tough on my legs or anything... But... I had to go to the bathroom so badly!!!

    I'm psyched!! 4.6 miles :)

Yesterday I didn't want to wear myself out, so I went back to my C25K app and ran W5D3 (20 minutes). A little over 2 miles, average pace 9:45/mile. I'm getting better!

Thanks, I'm really surprised at how much I enjoy running. I always thought it was a dumb exercise for losers. I take it back!! I'm sorry!! :)

Just completed Week 1 Day 3 yesterday. It was 86 degrees outside in 95% humidity, and there were hills and wind resistance (I ran down by the beach, I LOVE living near the water!)... Finished really strong though! :) Three 15 minute runs are going to be challenging but I think I can do it.

Man do these minute walks seem short ;)

    Finished Week 2 Day 1!

I started really late at night and ran down by the beach, but it was fully dark before I was even halfway done and that affected my motivation. Still, I got the job done and even broke a 10 minute mile on my second mile :P

    This is pretty challenging!!

Ok, so I finished W2D2 on Friday, which was awesome because I did the last 31 minutes with no walk break. I took Saturday off (we were in the city all day), then yesterday I attempted a relatively short (30 min) run around the track.

It was 80+ degrees in the blazing sun, my boyfriend and friend were distracting me the entire time with texts/phone calls to get together for lunch, lots of wind resistance, and I was just feeling so unmotivated... My legs felt like they weighed 100 pounds each and I never fell into The Groove(tm) which we all know about. Every step was a struggle. I ended up quitting after 20 minutes (2.6 miles) and I felt like crap for it.

I fall apart in the hot weather (I do not handle heat well) and am feeling pretty dejected right now. Mercifully, it's supposed to be in the low 60s in Connecticut this week and overcast, so I'm going to dust myself off and try for W2D3 today down by the shore.

I hate to use the treadmill at the gym because I get bored so easily. My first 5k is at the end of the month and I am praying to Nike (lol) that it will be under 75 degrees.

    :(

Ok so I don't suck as hard as I thought.

Today I set out to run 45 minutes straight and ended up doing a full 60 minutes with no walk! Consistently under 10:00 mile too!!

I guess the cold weather is good for me!

Do you use endomondo or runkeeper to track the distance you are doing? I would guess that a full 60 minute run would take you to 10k distance or near as dammit !
Keep it going, you are doing really well

I ended up at about 6.2 miles... I think that's a 10k :) I actually use the Sports Tracker app which is awesome... I've tried endomondo, mapmyrun and runkeeper and I still like Sports Tracker best. It seems to have the most accurate GPS (at least in my area) and I love the stats and graphs.

    Thank you!!

I did a 6.3 mile run on Friday... But 20 minutes in my stomach was cramping so badly, I had to walk for about 3-4 minutes. Thankfully that fixed it and I was able to run the rest!
