Title pretty much says it all. I've been walking 7-8 months and now just getting into jogging. Ive been told even though I have jogged on and off for the past month I still should do C25K to get my body warmed up to the idea of jogging. Any advice or suggestions before I start?

Make sure you've been fitted for good running shoes, it will make a big difference. I agree that C25K is a great program to transition from walking into jogging. You will do great!0

Last week new pair of NB purchased and few miles already on them from walking. Will report back in if Im still alive afterwards.0

C25K week 1 day 1 fairly easy. I even did it on a rolling hill area in a local park. Should I finish week 1 off or just skip to week 2?0

Week 1, for most people, is not ultra-challenging... If you follow the program exactly as laid out, you will get the best results. If you are impatient because it's too easy for you, then sure skip ahead a week but don't be afraid to extend a week if you suddenly find it challenging.0

As long as I remember I plan on posting. My goal for each week is to do each session a different place. That way while the sessions are the same, at least the terrain wont be. Mon I did my neighborhood and today I went to a local high school track. Fri it might rain here so no idea. Might have to do C25K stationary bike edition.
Thanks for reading and good luck!0 -
W2D2 still easy. What made it that much easier was that it was only 63 deg with a nice breeze. I also can tell its getting a tic easier because my cals burned during these sessions are getting a little bit less each time. Granted it could be a number of other things, but thats the story Im sticking with. Couldnt believe when it chimed I was finished. Which tbh, is a great feeling.
The other bonus, its nice to see the scale keep going in the right direction.0 -
Glad you're enjoying C25K - I did it last summer and it is ACE - it has literally changed my life!0

W2D3 while pushing my 2 kids in a double stroller, still easy. See how next week goes. Should hopefully get my new stability shoes tomorrow. If shoes feel fine, Im thinking of doing a 5k on July 4th.
Side bonus, scored an elliptical for $10 at a garage sale.... $10!!! Works... all I care.0 -
W3D1 while pushing my kids, still easy. Almost seemed like it was less running then W2D3. Still waiting on my shoes but love my new $10 elliptical.0

W3D2 done while pushing my 2 boys. Wait and see what week 4 brings next week.0

W3D3 done. TBH I heard ding, and just started to jog. 3.1 miles and about 48 mins later I stopped. When I started I could have done the last week without any issues. Im 3 weeks in and Im only a little bit sore when I add more miles to the session. I think I just had a head start with the amount of walking I was doing. I would love to start and finish this, but I dont see me gaining anything from it if I want to improve.0

Today I set a new PR with 2 miles in 29:14. I think it might have been in the high 28's but Map My Run messed up the start of my first mile. I feel I had an early graduation from C25K due to prior credits from another school.0
