SAD Diet Comes to Haunt Me

I have been doing great and have lost nearly 4 lbs since we started this challenge. But I let packing/moving get the best of me yesterday. I had Spinach Ravioli AND Annie's Cheddar Bunnies (both are in the house for my fiance and my son). The only consolation is that they were organic, as our family eats entirely organic. *sigh*. My frustration with this is I hope to someday be 100% primal/paleo- instead of the 85%-90% I have been. Does anyone else struggle with this?

Mark Sisson, author of Primal Blueprint, recommends we try for 80% when it comes to our diet. He's very forgiving of times like yesterday, they happen.

I'm pretty staunch with my eating only because I've got so much weight to lose, and I've got the 3 monkeys on my back....diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol and I want to be rid of them! But I know I'm more the exception than the rule.

Be kind to yourself, what you did wasn't very far off track, not like I've done in my past! I think a slip now and then isn't a big deal. What is a big deal is years of slipping down that slippery slope like I did. One little meal in the midst of moving and packing is totally understandable.

    BTW, beautiful new picture!

The only reason I can stick with the Keto diet and not "cheat" is because something seriously goes wrong with my body if I eat carbs. I havent found a doctor yet that will refer me to be seen for this just yet.

With that being said I wouldnt beat yourself up over a day think of it as a learning exp and something you can learn from. I had many nights i would sneak down to the kitchen and stuff my face when no one was looking and beat myself up for weeks for my "stupid mistakes." I ended up realizing my "triggers" much like a drug addict and took the foods out that I use to binge on. Now when I get that feeling I just tell myself its an impluse I need to learn to control or im going up on the scale again :)

Thanks you two! I used to be an "all or nothing" diet and exerciser years ago- and I definitely think I still kind of inadvertently think this way sometimes. The only difference, is now I wouldn't throw in the towel for the whole week for one bad meal or bad day.
