Anyone with athsma?

I did w1d3 today and jogged most of the jogging parts until the last two when my athsma started to act up. Hard to run holding your breath. But the good news is I knocked 2min off by best time for this loop, 36 min walk/running. I think I will repeat w1d3 until I can run all the running parts. Anyone else with athsma doing this and how do you prepare, I hit my emergency puffer about 30 min before I start.

I have asthma and I am doing W7D1 in two days I take a puff of my inhaler about 15 minutes before I leave for my run but really I don't find that my asthma plays up at all while I am running now that I have a proper breathing technique.0

I always have two puffs on my inhaler about 15mins before setting off and then use it as much as I need, even if I just feel a twinge of asthma coming on. I always try to breathe deep into my stomach (so your stomach moves in and out when you breathe) in a steady rhythm - helps get air in and stops any sense of panic, which only aggravates my asthma.
I also always breathe through my mouth - gets more oxygen in and out. I also really force the air out hard and loudly, to keep any asthma in check. I know I probably sound like I'm heavy breathing when running but, hey, if it gets me to the finish line, so what?!!
Much of my breathing technique has been built up after years of hiking and climbing mountains. I haven't run in the cold yet but as and when I do I'll do what I do when hiking - wear a buff (like a scarf/cowl) around my neck that I can pull up over my mouth to breathe through as the cold air always sets my asthma off.
I've also had a meds review in the last year and have gone on a preventative steroid inhaler and a tablet to stop nasal drip (Singulair - the drip has been irritating my lungs). Now I'm getting more active I'm not prepared to put up with wheezing any more!
And, of course, the increased fitness has had a marked effect on my asthma. I now have a lung age of someone six years younger, which I never thought would be possible.

Good work, if you stay on top of it ,it doesn't have to slow you down. Sounds like you have a good plan and your right the healthier you get, the less of a problem it becomes.0
