So, I got my thyroid levels checked in mid January and everything was fine ;)
I went last week for some blood work for another issue, and they wanted to check my thyroid levels. Well, the results came in and it was super high!! Usually they try and keep me between 0.4-3.5, and my level last week was a whopping 23.9!!

I haven't been able to shed 1 single pound in the last 6 weeks, do you think this could be why? I have since started on some high Synthroid, but that will take about 4-6 weeks before I am feeling it!

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Thanks :)

When I was initially diagnosed, I went from "normal" levels to a TSH over 40. I don't know how that happens - except that I have hashimoto and it must have suddenly attacked. I suppose this forum is tired of hearing me say I took Synthroid for 15 years and did not get any relief from symptoms -- my weight ballooned. I think it was made worse by the fact that I went through menopause.

    Thanks Terri!

They are checking to see if I have Hashimoto Dieseas too!! My docotr thinks it is because I am taking my vitamins within 2 hours of taking my thyroid medication. I have since started taking my Synthroid at night!

I am frustrated and disheartend as I would really love to be one of those that can keep posting a weight loss every week!! Oh well, this will not break me and I wil only push harder!

    Cheers

I found that adding cytomel helped with weight loss as it gives you some of the other thyroid hormones. I gain weight when I am hypo and also when I am hyper (always hungry). It takes a LONG time to get the right dose and combination. My doc. orders blood testing about every 6-8 weeks until things will be where the blood levels AND my emotions are fairly well in control.
