I'm new here so please forgive me if this has already been discussed. I was wondering if anyone has experienced any setbacks in their endurance after completing C25K program and then moving on to the 10K program? Do you feel like you went backward in your progress because it starts with shorter intervals?

Hi, I'm actually starting the second week of Bridge to 10K. I think it's a similar program. I didn't finish all of C25K but starting with shorter intervals seems necessary to build up - After all, the walk breaks are only 1 minute, it's really not that bad.

Hi, when I went from running 30 min at a time from C25K to start of 10K running 3 min/1min at a time for a week, then 4 min/1min for a week, then 5 min1/min for a week...then hit week 4 which is 8 min running then 1 min walking....that big jump between 5 min and 8 min was a beast! It shouldn't have been since I'd been used to running the 30 min stretch. Let me know what you think at week 4!

I did Bridge to 10k right after C25k. I had similar problems, but I think I was following (or trying to) the pacing for the Bridge to 10k (if I remember correctly).

In the end, I decided that going back to intervals and increasing speed or distance was too much right after the C25k, so I went back to running 30 minutes, 3 times a week for a month without trying to increase speed or time. That seemed to help. Don't know if it was mental or what. I think it just allowed me to get use to the distance I had "earned" through C25k and gave me a mental break from trying something new so I could just enjoy running for a while.

After that I finished the Bridge to 10k and moved straight on to a 1/2 marathon training plan. That was too much of a jump for me, too. I should have stayed at the 10k distance for a while.

    Not sure if that's helpful.
