Well, I have happy news. My blood test came back 2.1 TSH. After cutting my dose down to a miniscule amount. And I am also feeling so much better... My doctor suggested I drop the synthroid all together & try to get some more iodine (after I stop taking synthroid)... then check next month & see if my levels stay good. He was happy about the virgin coconut oil & suggested I start salting my food a bit...

I will continue on my supplements (that I learned about here), and the coconut oil, I picked up some lower-dose iodine to try very slowly...will give it a go & see how I feel. If I start feeling hypo again, it will be time to go to the NP.

I'm so grateful to those of you who have learned so much & share it with us "newbies"!!

Wow - that's amazing. I'm pretty sure being off synthroid will be wonderful for you - just pray your levels stay down :flowerforyou: -- TSH isn't much of an indicator, but if you feel good, that's the best indicator!!

    Thanks Terri,
Pray is right! I will definitely be alert to my body. That seemed to be what swayed the Dr. - how good I was feeling.

Which supplements do you take in addition to the coconut oil?

    Hi :-)
Selenium; evening primrose oil; Vitamin D3 (4000); Flaxseed Oil; Magnesium Citrate, probiotic enzyme,
and of course a good multi-vitamin

I was taking Keto7, but it caused hyper symptoms.
I have always taken lots of supplements/tintures. And depending on what stage I was in the women's cycles have always benefited by them.

    Thanks Ginny,

I actually really like my Dr now. He seems to appreciate the fact that I want to get better more naturally. As well, he is more well-read on health then most Dr's.

He didn't say to gradually drop the meds, since its such a low dose. I was going to go gradually... like take it every other day.

Anyone know? I was taking 37.5 mcg @ day. Also, how long does it take to get out of your system? It took so long to take effect, makes me think it will take that long to get out. (so I can add the kelp/iodine).

Synthroid, Levoxyl, etc. takes about 10 days to get out of your system.

thanks so much for posting your supplement info. I am not on meds and hoping to find help naturally and have been making great progress with how I feel but the lack of weight loss is pretty depressing after 5 months so hopefully your supplement info will help me soon too :) Will post an update if it does ;)

    HI isys5 ,
Have you had your thyroid levels tested? You really will start feeling better right away with the coconut oil, if you're anything like me.
