SO...I did my first 5K this morning (my first race is on June 23rd). I walked about 2-3 minutes after my first mile and about 2 minutes after my 2nd mile but still finished fairly decent at 37:58. I'm ok with that. Speed will come...hopefully before June 23.

I am so happy to read this! I run my first 5K tomorrow. I am just hoping to be sub-45 minutes.

    Good for you!

Are you just out running a 5K tomorrow or an actual race? I'm really excited about my first one. Its the Color Run and looks like its going to be amazing. I think (hope) it will be easier on race day due to the excitement and such. Good luck tomorrow! Let me know how it goes!

I am running a race tomorrow. And it is supposed to POURING rain. So, I am not sure if that will effect me. I ran 3.10 miles twice in last 2 weeks at around 42 minutes. But I wasn't pushing myself. The rain is freaking me out!

The Color Run looks awesome! If this race goes well then there are a few more races I look forward to running.

Yikes. That stinks about the rain. I got caught in rain a month or so ago while out running and it wasnt too bad but I didn't run a whole 5K in rain! Is it hot where you are? That does me in more than anything. Maybe if its raining, it will keep you cooler?

Well today it is 80 degrees and sunny. But with the rain the high is 60 degrees. The race is at 8:30 AM and at (and near) the beach so probably closer to 50 degrees. But, on the bright side, it might be an easy record to beat for the next race!! And it's a good "excuse" to forgive myself for whatever happens tomorrow!
