Okay so things have been going AMAZING with EM2WL!

BUT I have hit a sort of road block this week and not sure what I should do. I dislocated 2 of my ribs so I have not been able to exercise this week. So I have just been eating at my cut for sedentary which is 1650. Today my DH is taking me out for dinner and tomorrow we are having a BBQ at our place. Obviously there will be cake and lots of treats. I have planned my day today including what I am eating out for supper but it has left little for lunch and no snacks.

What would you do? Just not eat as much? Go up to maintenance for a couple days? Is that too much inconsistency if I go up for 2 days?

It's driving me crazy that I couldn;t work out this week....basically I had to lay on the couch the entire week.

Personally, I tend to enjoy myself, so I would definitely eat. If it means going to maintenance for a few days, then heck yeah. You know you're not going to gain pounds of fat doing it. Enjoy the foods you really want, and just eat in moderation at the BBQ and restaurant. And don't go hungry the rest of the day! :)

I agree. I seriously dont think that you will gain by going up to maintenance or even slightly over. Ive done it before and didnt have any gain.
If you calculate your WEEKLY calories Im very sure you will still be in a deficit even by going up to maintenance for two days!!
Enjoy yourself, I think you earned it. :flowerforyou:

I agree with everyone else eating at maintenance for a few days will be fine if anything you can eat at maintenance for a whole week and take a diet break. This way when you cut again you will see better results.

I'm going to agree with everyone else. I think the fact that this is a lifestyle (and an awesome one at that) allows you days when things are a bit different. I would eat good lean protein at lunch and breakfast, make mostly healthy choices at the BBQ and dinner out, and use your indulgences for a beer or a piece of cake.

    You got this!!

Well I do go out for dinner and I did enjoy myself!

AND I made sensible choices...meaning that I had some of everything I wanted but not the whole thing. My meal was fantastic, DH and I split an appetizer and a dessert. I shared my half of the app with my daughter and he had more of the dessert than me and I am stuffed. I calculated all the calories and I am only over for the day by about 30 calories. So not bad.

And tomorrow won't be so bad either. I'm hoping my ribs won't hurt too bad and I can at least get a walk in. And I will skip the pasta salad with my burger but I will enjoy my birthday cake (my mom is making a banana cake with peanut butter icing....my favourite!).

I too would go to maintenance for a week and call it good. Your body needs a break every now and then. Take this break and enjoy!! Then when you are healed you can hit it hard, but right now rest and enjoy life!!!
