After too much to-ing and fro-ing i am going to try this again with a real focus on eating clean (i think the whole i have to get my calories up so lets eat a piece of cake got to me! lol) even tho deep down i know its a much, much healthier approach then eating lower. My one question is....when i use the scooby website it gives me a value of 1609 for my BMR... i recently had a dexa scan done and was told my RMR is actually 1871....so im wondering if i should use my RMR from the scan and times it by 1.55 to get my TDEE or just use the results from the scooby website? A 15% cut on scooby is 2121 calories...but if i work it out using the dexa scan results i get the 15% cut is 2465 so its a significant difference.

Thanks :)

    Hey!

    Welcome back :)

If you had the dexa-scan done, I would use that RMR for sure :) maybe try a 20% cut if your worried .

    Thanks,

    Mike

BMR and RMR are two totally different things.

BMR is Basal Metabolic Rate - basically if you were in a coma,
RMR is Resting Metabolic Rate - basically just sitting in a chair awake.

Scooby's site uses BMR in its calculations so I would go by that...otherwise you could be taking in a little more calories than you should and it would slow your weight/fat loss down.
