Question about the workout plans!

I'm getting myself confused on the workout plans! I am starting Stage 1 tomorrow and reading the charts to figure out what I'll be doing.
Where it says:
Workout A
Squats
Workout 1,2
Workout 3,4
Workout 5,6
Workout 7,8
Do you do each one? So like one is with X reps and the other is a different # reps, and the next with different reps.
So essentially doing the same type of exercise 8 different times?

You alternate workout a and b. the reps decrease as the weight goes up. Stage one will consist of 16 total workouts, 8 workout "a" and 8 workout "b". I just finished stage one. It's tough but I feel so good!0

I need more help. There are 4 squat exercises, for example, but 8 workouts. I can't figure out what workout 1,2 etc. is referencing exactly.0

Workouts 1,2 are your 1st and 2nd workout days using Workout A.0
