Help. I am doing metabolism miracle very similar to Atkins.
I was steadily losing but I've gained 2 lbs to 4 lbs back. I don't know if it's normal to fluctuate But with my condition I am lucky to loose ounces let alone pounds before starting this lifestyle. I was so pumped when I would lose a pound a week.
It's very frustrating because I have hashimotos disease and I have been diligent for the last twenty days on low carb dieting.
Please review my diary and if you have any constructive advice I'd appreciate it.
I have four weeks left before I can up my carbs .
Thanks again!

OP.s. I had to do a bake sale for my daughter's class yesterday!,, it killed me. 150 small pop tarts made with pie crust and jam. I had 3 pieces the size 1 1/2" diam. I estimated their calorie count. It was a struggle to with hold eating more. (damn school).

Well I just looked at today and yesterday, and I only know Atkins, but these are the red flags that jump out at me as possible culprits.
Coffee (caffeine hinders weight loss in some ppl)
Half and half (milk has lots of sugar, try heavy cream instead)
    Whey protein (milk product)
Peanut butter (stalls me, at least)
    Tortilla
    Diet coke
    Pie crust
Sugar free jello (aspartame can raise blood sugar as much as sugar)
    Almond butter

Again, I don't know your diet. All I can say is if it were my food log, these would get eliminated. Let me know if you would like to see my diary and I'll give you the key.

Correction: whey protein isolate is actually in my diet 6 days a week! Can't work out without it!

    Jadesign19,

My opinion is that the only "magic" of low carb is that cutting out the carbs allows me to gain control of my appetite.
I won't go into any details on blood sugar, ketosis or insulin resistance. It is enough to say that eating junk carbs I can eat a lot and be hungry 2 hours later, eating fat and protein I can eat less and be satiated for a much longer time.

Over many years I found that when my caloric intake is in the 1500-2000 Cal/day range I gradually lose weight. When it is 2000-2250 , I hold steady, when it is above 2250 I'm gaining. Without low carb it is damn near impossible for me to stay below 2250 for any significant period of time . This is for a 200+ lb middle aged male who has a desk job but who does get 3-5 hours of exercise a week.

Your set points will be different from mine but your probably have them .

I totally agree about curbing the appetite with low carb. I'm suspecting it could be my sodium intake and fluid retention.
    For the weight gain.

    Thanks all for input!

Maybe you're having too many calories? I can't say for sure. Also try drinking more water.
