For all the guys who have this gadget-is it good?
Is it enough?
I just want to know my TDEE really. And it is 79 Pounds as compared to almost 300 for the KiFit.
Ad it does not require subscription.

    Hi Noor,
    I ordered a BMF as I've seen from lots of reviews that the Fitbit doesnt track Weight Lifting accurately but the BMF does.
    But with Cardio and daily activity the Fitbit is apparently very good, so if youre not too worried about weigh lifting burn it is great for lots of people.
    Ive seen people use a heart rate monitor combined with it too sometimes.

    I was seeing that it is not recommended to use it also for sports where you sweat a lot, cause it is not water proof. I do Insanity in combination with lifting-so I do sweat a lot.

    But I do have a Polar FT40 HRM, which I use for my workouts and I which I love. So I would be just fine using it in combination with the FitBit.

    I have a fitbit and it's very discrete as I put it on my bra.

    I also use a Polar HRM for weightlifting etc - and you can get a case for MP3 players to put it in when you're exercising if you want to make it more waterproof.

    I can't afford the more expensive monitors or the subscription - and I prefer everyone not to know I'm tracking myself unless I chose to tell them.

    i have one and love mine. I still use a HRM though. But i think it is a wonderful tool for calculating your TDEE. It is more for the everyday activity stuff and is fine for running/walking as well. I also use it to track my volleyball. But for weights, cycling etc i always wear my HRM and log it in MFP. But then fitbit is clever enough to grab that info and use it to more accurately cumulate the TDEE. Unlike MFP which doesn't even consider your BMR calories during that period of exercise (so some people double-up and count that BMR portion twice) you don't have to worry about that with fitbit because it takes that into account for you.
    So really it is a specialised tool - not something to replace a HRM with but to use in conjuction. And it is also very discrete which those armband ones are not.
