How would you know if you are sensitive to dairy? Other than the gastrointestinal stuff, are their other "symptoms"?

For me, it manifests in the form of sinus issues. Runny nose, stuffy nose, sinus infections, ear issues, etc. If I'm having large amounts of dairy it gives me mild asthma issues.

oddly enough - I would get violently ill with g.i. pains that were similiar to the symptoms of a busted gal bladder. Yet, ultrasound determined not to be the case. The ingestion of any dairy with fat (2% milk, cheese, ice cream) would give me 12 hours of serious pain.

Now, since going paleo, I can actually eat dairy without any symptoms. I don't overdo it, but my list of foods I can eat actually went up once I eliminated grain.
