Muscle Loss Question

Hi, I did a quick search on the forums but didn't come up with the answer.

Can anyone point me in the direction of an article that talks about muscle loss related to weight loss?

ie) If you lose 30 pounds by just doing a calorie deficit (and no lifting) not all of that 30 pounds will be fat?

If you do a calorie deficit, no heavy lifting, but eat high protein does that affect lean mass loss?
