Does anybody do an alternative for the deadlift????

I modify the deadlift by placing the bar on 3 aerobic step risers (not the box, just the risers). This puts it at a more appropriate height and doesn't hurt my low back.0

I did roman dead lifts. Got up to 95 plds in stage 1. Could never get the hang of the regular dead lifts.0

I have lower back problems at times so I rest the bar on the lowest squat rack position. This puts the bar just about the same hight that it would be if I had a 45# plate on each end. For stage 2 I have just continued the modified version rather than lower as the book suggests.0
