How to Eat socially after LapBand - Advise needed

Hi all - I amscheduled for LapBand surgery on the 28th. Yippy YIPPY Yippy!!!!! :bigsmile: :drinker:


I am just curious how long was it before you felt you could eat out socially with family and friends?

Some of my friends - not sure I am telling them I have had surgery... Jury is still out on that -especially for one who is totally against any type of WLS...

After the mushy and soft food phase it was about 6 weeks and I could eat mostly anything. Just remember you probably won't feel restriction until the first 3 fills. You will certainly feel restriction just after surgery for about a week or 2 that is because your stomach is still swollen from the surgery. So don't freak out if you stop feeling restriction and can eat just about the same as before the surgery. It does get better your body just needs to go in stages to be able to reach restriction. I just had my third fill and am totally feeling it and the weight is coming off faster. There was a 3-5 week period where I was at the same weight. But man just wait till you find your green zone "sweet spot" You will know it when you have it. I am 2 months out and 30lbs down. So happy about this decision! No regrets!
