Finished Stage 1 of New Rules

For those of you that are starting/thinking about starting and ESP for those of you who, like me, are obese, this is my progress so far with New Rules. This is eating at the numbers that Fat2Fit gives me, so 2300 to sometimes 2500 cals/day. You can lose weight, and most importantly, inches and FAT eating more and lifting! Oh, and according to online calculators, I've lost *about* 5% bodyfat and gained *about* 6lbs of muscle:)

Ok, I finished the last special workout on Friday, here are my full stats:

Workout A:
Squats- 20lb weighted barbell >90lbs Smith Machine
Push ups- 30 degree incline on bench the whole time, but form improved drastically and I didn't take breaks anymore
Seated Row- 40lbs> 92.5lbs
Step-Ups- 30lbs (15ea hand)> 40lbs (20ea hand) (this is on a bench press bench)
Prone Jacknives- BW, but improved and slowed down the moves toward the end!

Special workout !:
Squats- 60 with 20lb barbell- thought my legs were going to fall off!
Push ups- 12 almost perfect ones
Seated Row- 60 with 40lbs- shoulders got crampy!
Step Ups- 15 with 30lbs
Jacknives- barely 15!

Workout B:
Deadlift- 30lb weighted barbell>100lb smith machine
Dumbbell Shoulder Press- 20lb (10ea hand)> 50lb (25ea hand)
Wide Grip Lat Pulldown- 70lbs>100lbs
Lunge- 20lb (10ea hand)> 50lb (25ea hand)
Swiss Ball Crunch- BW>25lb barbell on chest

Special Workout B:
Deadlift- 35 with 30lbs
Dumbbell Shoulder press- 25 with 20lbs (10ea hand)
Wide Grip Lat Pulldown- 26 with 70lbs
Lunges- 25 with 20lbs (10ea hand)
Swiss Ball Crunch- 26 with BW

I'm very happy with my progress on everything but pushups, but those have improved, so I'll take it! The special workouts were kind of hard, I think it's way harder to do several of a move instead of just a few!!

And here are my weight/measurement changes in the 6wks:
Weight: SW- 210 CW- 204.5 Loss of 5.5lbs

Measurement Difference (Just listing the change in inches)
Calves: down 1.5" on each calf!
Thighs: Down about 3" on Right and 4" on left!
Hips: Down 2.5"
Waist at bellybutton: Down 1"
Natural Waist: down 2.5"
Under Breast: Down 1.5"
Breast: Down 2"

For a grand total of 19.5"! Now, I will say I'm not the best at measuring, but I did my absolute best to measure in the same spots each time!

Now for the pics.

Aww thanks everyone! I'm loving how lifting is changing my shape so fast! Several years ago I lost a bunch, and it was by eating, not by starving myself, but I wasn't lifting like I am now, so I was still like "skinny fat" but this time is just SO different! I'm just loving every minute:) And yes, I'll post my pics to the sticky thread:) Thanks again so much, sharing with other people just motivates me so much more too!

I have changed up my workouts on non-weight training days a few times. When I started NR, I was doing Couch25k, but it got to be too much to do both, so I took a full week off cardio right in the middle. Since then, I've been doing intervals on the treadmill 2x/wk on the days I don't do NR, so I workout 5 days/wk. I was doing 6, but I waitress on the weekends, and I decided since I walk like 5+miles (7 on Sat and 8 on Sun this week!) that I didn't need to do more lol:) Currently, on cardio days, I do 30/30 intervals (30s run, 30s walk) on the treadmill for 30 mins with a 5min warmup and 5min cooldown and then after that I'll do like 25mins at a moderate pace on the elliptical. This week is my off week for NR so I'm just doing a bunch of random stuff, like today, I did the Kenpo DVD from P90X.

Thank you so much:) I've been sharing pics with my friends to inspire them to quit worrying so much about the scale. Even though I have 50-60+lbs I'd like to lose, if I can fit into a smaller size, who cares what the scale says!

Thanks for the reply! I have been on and off about what to do on my off days, and today decided that I would do intervals for 30 min on the arc trainer (elliptical). It was a great workout and I think that I'll continue to do that in addition to New Rules. I will start workout 4 (stage 1) tomorrow, and your results are very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
