My first 5K

Hi everyone,
A few weeks back I got ill and ended up dropping out of C25K at week 7, which I'm really annoyed at myself for. I'm going to start up again but repeat week 5 or 6 rather than jump straight into full runs.
BUT...... that's not the reason for this post
On Tuesday evening I ran the Race for Life in my area. For those who don't know what this is, it's a women-only 5k race to raise money for Cancer Research. There was lots of pink being worn, lots of fancy dress, and it was a fantastic evening. Me and my two friends raised around £400 for Cancer Research, which smashed our target of £200!
They split the race into 3 groups - runners, joggers and walkers. I joined the joggers group, and jogged as much of it as I could, even up all the hills! I came in with a time of 43:36, which I don't think is too bad, and even though I couldn't run for the whole thing, I'm still really proud of myself for completing it.
I'm already planning on entering next years, and I'm *definitely* going to be able to run the whole course next time! :flowerforyou:
