I'm 3 weeks in....the first two I felt AMAZING! Two days ago though I started feeling like crap. Tired, not very much energy and a massive headache. Could this be the dreaded carb flu? Anyone else go through this? How long does it last? This sucks! Haha!

I'm reasonably sure that my misery of the past couple days is due to the plague that's been spreading around the office. I've never had a reaction to cutting out carbs though, just caffeine (and I wouldn't wish that headache on anyone!).

Oh and with fruit/veg, I'm netting around 80-100 carbs a day. Might cut that back some, but I'm fighting a whole lot of other battles right now.

I had headaches, weakness, nausea, etc. when I started paleo. It hit me right of the bat though, not weeks after starting. I guess everyone's different. My carb flu lasted a few days in the beginning and then it would only come on between meals when I didn't have a snack or something. Now I never experience it. Give it a week or so.

Gah....who knows what it is. My girls took turns being sick last week so maybe I have a bit of what they had.

My headache TOTALLY feels like a caffiene headache. That's def the worst part. Maybe I need to eat more frequently....that might help some.

Yes ma'am! I had this very bad when I first went Primal... and honestly, if I lapse over a long weekend, I experience this when I get my eating back on track. I slowed my work outs down when I felt like that and pushed through. Slowly but surely the symptoms subsided.

Three weeks in...probably not the carb flu...that usually happens within the first 7 days as your body is weened from lots of processed stuff and such...

I know there is a nasty stomach bug going around where I live on the east coast.

Also I always get bad headaches when the weather changes - I had a horrible one yesterday when the temps went from mid 80's to high 90's

Did you eat something new or eat something "non-paleo" - after eating this style for awhile I have learned my body can simply not put up with certain things and will let me know...I had a small bowl of ice cream last week (TOM and I had done a big workout and I thought Dammit I am going to have some) - yeah after about an hour my body revolted - not great at all...I have absoultely no desire for ice cream anymore...(I use half and half in my coffee...but I guess the ice cream was just too much dairy - not to mention sugar - in one compact sitting).

No, I hadn't eaten anything non primal that incan think of....I had been doing really good! I live in Texas and it's always hot here....no real change in temps...I also haven't heard of anyone being sick, not that that's not a possibility....

I wrote this post last thursday. That afternoon my husband and I took our girls to see Madagascar 3. I ate like 3 handfuls of popcorn and a quarter of my husbands soda. By the end of the movie I felt MUCH better. Maybe it's all coincidence, but it was like once I had those Carbs/sugars I felt better. (just a side note....it SUCKS eating primal at the theaters! Lol! Next time I'm gonna plan much better and sneak in snacks that are actually primal!)

Anyway....After that day I kinda half assed it the rest of the weekend. Monday I got back on track but then we got take out last night and I ate noodles. Today was kinda a cluster eff and I ate horribly. Need to get my *kitten* in order and get back to it. I wish I had just powered through feeling like poo b/c it's always so much harder to restart something, ya know?!
