A new BBC series, looks like the kerazy notions of the Yudkins, Taubes' and Naughtons of this world are going to get some mainstream exposure for a change, good to see:

I'm intrigued!
I wonder if it'll be on the BBC channel in the US?0 -
I've not seen it yet (I have literally just downloaded it) but I hope it reaches a wider audience, we need more people to spread the science and start to chip away at the misconceptions and myths.0

Just seen it, it was OK but I would prefer to have had some decent science in there, something other than 'Fructose is fattening', HFCS is evil, the food industry is powerful ...
I would have thought that in discussing Ancel Keys they could at least have mentioned the bodged 'fat therefore causes heart disease' research data.
I mean, Fat Head manages to distill it all down and makes it entertaining.
I hope the last 2 episodes are a bit more heavy on the science.0 -
So, part 2 ... Primarily focused on portion sizes, how soft drink measures have grown and the 'toxic environment'.
A bit disappointing to be honest, a lot of guff about Supersizing and repeated use of the phrase "Sugary Fatty Food" ... Like sugar and fat are both evil in equal measure.
There are good fats, our body needs fat, fat-phobia is what got us in the mess in the first place!
I found the stories of reports being buried by industry interests due to political reasons depressing but interesting. Particularly the study that found that kids these days do just as much exercise as in the 50s.
So, it ain't sitting in front of the TV playing video games, it's the food/drink. It's the &*^%ing sugar in everything!
Once again it indicated that good health is 80% nutrition, 20% exercise ... Or summink like that.
Final part next week.0
