Just wondering if anyone uses the Fitbit Tracker and, if so, do you like it? I'm considering getting one, but wanted some feedback first.

I have a fitbit, and so does my partner. We love them. They are great motivators. I've upped my steps from about 35,000 per week to over 50,000. Working on getting higher.

It is also surprising how many extra calories you are burning a day. On a standard day, I receive about a 300 calorie credit from general activity in my day from Fitbit to MFP. On a busy day I've had as much as 1100 calorie credit. That is usually on a Saturday, when I'm doing all my errands, cleaning etc.

So does it calulate everything about you to get yourcals and does it have like a heart monitor in it??? Im really curious ive seen them here and there and really curious too?

It doesn't have a Heart Rate monitor. When I was researching which thing to get, I liked this one the best because it is small and discrete. I just clip it onto my bra strap in the morning and forget about it. Most items that have a HRM you wear like a watch, or a large item on your arm. I wouldn't feel comforable wearing that all day. (I also hate wearing watches.)

It does calculate everything for you specifically. Online you set up a profile, much like MFP. Based on your weight age and lifestyle and goals it calculates how much you burn, and how much you should eat. It also tracks if you have eaten enough during the day to keep your metabolism going. Even if not near the base to input extra movement, based on your average burn rate, there is a gauge you can look at to see if your under eating, just right for the time of day, or over eating. I don't look at that too much, but it is nice to see at the end of the day.

It also tracks your sleep and how many times you wake up at night, and how long you sleep. That is a good judge to look at, as being sleep deprived isn't good for losing weight, or so I've heard.

Thanks for the compliment on the steps.

So, you even wear it at night? When you are sleeping?

Yes, it comes with a wristband, and it tracks how you sleep, and how many times you wake up, and how long it takes to fall asleep. It is neat to see your sleep patterns.
