Any of you take up a martial art or still practice and you are over 40? I took up taekwondo and love it! Kate

I did a couple of years of full contact MMA classes twice a week. Started when I was 40. I loved them, but had to quit because the kicking exacerbated an already existing back condition. I loved those classes - never felt stronger than when I was kicking and punching and running. I feel like it is something you can continue to do for life if you are smart about it (and don't have a spine injury like me). I really miss those classes a lot.
ETA: Although I will say I got a little bit tired of being treated like an old lady by all the 25 year old kids. New partners were always surprised by my roundhouse!0 -
Me, took up The Kwon do when I was 39 with my kids. Currently a blue belt.0

I am taking Kenpo Karate. I started when I was 45 and I am currently working on my Green belt. I love doing it and the exercise helps too0
