Hello Everyone!
It is a new week so let's start a new challenge. We are slowing things down a bit this week to see if we can get participation up. There is still going to be a challenging "new to the workout" section but I am shaving the other numbers considerably. Jump in everyone! The challenge is a source of motivation and support!
This week the goal is to get in 10 miles of cardio! You can walk/jog/run (if you bike just count minutes like the classes) If 10 miles is too much and you are just starting out try for 5 miles. Those of you who love your classes (zumba etc.) let's shoot for 150 minutes of exercise -- That's 30minutes of exercise 5 times a week or 2-3 one hour classes.
New to the challenge: 10 Burpees!

:flowerforyou: I will never post your actual weight but I would like to add a weekly loser section. Example Melissa lost 1.4pounds this week! To the beginning of the leader board! So include your weight progress in your results for honorable mentions!
*** if you finished the goals but didn't check back in time -- remember that I collect data on Sunday night (this week there was nothing to report) turn in your results to be included on the leader board ***
*** I am NOT a doctor consult a physician for clearance if you need to do so! ****

Haha! I must admit I added burpees for selfish reasons! I am a big girl and all of the skinny chicks in my bookclub do crossfit classes and keep asking me to go with them. I don't know how familiar you are with crossfit but it's a lot of jumping and running and lifting your own body weight -- very intense. I cannot do the exercises that involve me lifting my own body weight and jumping around like a maniac.I am pretty good at keeping up with normal dance stuff or aerobics but when it comes to getting down on the floor and then back up as fast as I can.... um no I am pretty slow and truthfully some things I can't do at all. That won't stop me from trying! I thought we could all try it together -- a little bit at a time. Doing 10 in one week seems like good practice without being unrealistic. When I go to classes I like to keep up - I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me.0

I hear ya. I actually have more stamina than a few of the "skinnier" people in my kickboxing class, but it's that "lifting my own body weight" crossfit stuff that gets me. Every time.
I'm glad you put burpees down. I saw we increase the number every week! (When I can't do something, it makes me really want to not only do it, but master it - bad...) :bigsmile:0 -

How's everyone's week going so far? I am doing ok. I had a bad eating day yesterday but overall I am not doing awful. I called the trainer today to schedule my initial appt. Eek! It is a little scary but I know I have to do it. I have to tighten my diet up again because I need that scale to start movin'! Egg McMuffins and all this other nonsense I have been eating isn't helping anything either. Dinner was nice and healthy today I just have to be more consistent through out the day. I have to say I was doing really well but then started to ease up a little and now I've gone all willy nilly and need to reign it back in! I have to sit down and make a goal and a plan -- hopefully the trainer will be able to offer some guidance. How abour you?0

Having a good week so far. As of yesterday I've gotten in 210 minutes of cardio in (Tae Bo, the elliptical and stationary bike) and lifted on Monday and Wednesday. Today will be another round of Tae Bo and then tomorrow it's back to the gym for more of the elliptical / bike / weights.
And oh - looooove Egg McMuffins. Such a weak spot of mine...0 -

I'm leaving for a camping trip early tomorrow morning and probably won't have cell reception, so here are my weekly stats:
345 hours of cardio (Tae Bo, Elliptical, and Bike)
10 Burpees (Ugh - lol!)
Cheers all! :drinker:0 -
* Minutes. 345 minutes of cardio.
(345 HOURS of cardio - now that'd be something, huh?) :ohwell:0 -
