Hello everyone. I just started a new diet a little over a week ago. I've been counting calories and I'm averaging less than 1000 calories a day. That sounds a little low to me but I don't feel very hungry. Do I need to eat more? Add me please

It is extremely hard, darn near impossible to get all the nutritents, protein, vitamins you need with 1000 calories. Not that it can't be done, it's just super difficult and not for beginners.
I am assuming your cal intake is so low because you are A) on a very restrictive diet that doesn't let you eat very many things or you are trying to lose to quickly or c) both. You many not feel very hungry, but this is a recipe for burn out disaster. You should be instead shooting for no more than 1-2 lbs of weight loss per week (depending on how much you have to lose) because that is healthy weight loss and it is sustainable for the long term.
Slow and stead wins the race. And so does eating healthy and getting all the things your body needs to run well.0 -
100% agreement with the above poster. You may not feel hungry now, but my experience with that kind of calorie restriction is that it just leads to horrible binges, which will only set you back even further. It may also lead to other consequences like hair falling out, weak and brittle nails, dry skin, and even skipping your period.
Without knowing your height, activity level or any other factors it's hard to say what you should be eating, but 1,200 to 1,400 is probably more reasonable. It will take a few weeks to figure out the right formula, but like Jan said slow and steady wins the race. Feed yourself with lots of healthy fuel and get your exercise and you will get there.0
