Ok, I'm new to this group, so I'll give a little background about me. I started my "journey" in January...running on treadmill, eating at 1200 calories per day, as set by MFP. I lost great....usually I lost at least a lb per week, but most weeks it was more. Obviously I had a few weeks where I didn't, but that was usually due to drinking the weekend or night before. In May I gained about 3 lbs...not sure why or how....I chalked it up to Memorial day cook outs and drinks...a lot of them. But it didnt' go down much the next few days after drinking water and doing better eating wise. I will admit I haven't logged as well as I should, and haven't been as strict with my food decisions as I was to start, but the scale is NOT BUDGING. I currently run for 30 minutes or so 5 days per week, outside...burn between 250-350 carlories each run,..approx. I am 5'6", I weigh 173 lbs. How many calories should I be eating......and how long should I wait to see a difference? HELP!! I just want to get to my goal of 150...and the scale is NOT BUDGING. I have lost some inches, but nothing to be excited about.

I understand you want to see the scale go down, but really...losing inches IS something to be excited about!
Think about it; the people that see you every day don't see your scale(a random number), they see you in the flesh!
They can tell when your body changes, they don't know what you weigh, but can see you getting smaller.
I recently saw three pictures of a gal within 2 pounds (of all the pictures), the difference was unbelievable! A little "pudgy", "thin", and down right hawt!!!

SO, the moral of the story: inches lost better than pounds lost!

Read the Red push pin threads on the main board and it'll explain how you arrive at the proper numbers for you and good luck!!!
