Gaining Body Fat

I'm on stage 2 of NROLFW and have gone from 35% BF to 37%.
I've been sticking perfectly to the NROLFW diet and although i have lost weight this week, i've gained body fat and lost lean mass.
Originally i was eating at a cut (300 calories less), but increased because it wasn't working for me. I feel as if nothing will ever work for me!! I'm also quite short (5'0") so i don't know if NROLFW's calories are geared towards short people. Has anyone around my height had success on these calories?

If you are following the diet and sticking to the calories, I would look at your protein. You need a lot of protein for muscle building and if you are losing pounds and muscle mass, then my guess would be you are not taking in enough protein to build muscle.

I think you may be right. I don't eat near enough protein some days, though i do try. Usually i aim for 1g per lb lean mass. But NROLFW recommends more protein than that. I'm basically struggling to meet the bare minimum! Going to have to fix that!!

I am short also so I understand how you feel.

How many calories do you eat? How many gram of protein? Do you do cardio also? What method do you use to calculate your bf%?

Perso, I eat 1700 calories day in day out. Eat 75-100 g of protein .

I usually eat 2190 (as calculated by nrolfw) on training days and 1932 on rest days. I usually aim for at least 95g of protein. Where did you figure out 1700 calories. Does it work for you? I use a tanita handheld monitor to calculate my bf%. Not the most accurate method but its the least expensive. (apart from calipers which i plan on getting soon..)

    I used this calculator. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

Did TDEE minus 15% and don't eat my exercise calories. I am losing fat. The handheld monitor are very fussy about water retention and the like. I would keep at it for another 2 weeks to see if it is a trend or just a fluke.

Whenever i didnt drink enough, or drank loads just before measureing with the handheld fat% thingies my fatpercentage is off the charts compared to the previous measurement.

Tho if you are not getting enough protein that could be a problem too
