Advice needed on whether to progress this week

Hi there,

I've just completed Week 4 and feel able to move onto Week 5
BUT I've got a REALLY long working week next week (56 hours).
Do I push onto Week 5 even with the extra work or do I play it
safe and repeat the week?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I think if you're comfortable going to week 5 then you should be fine to do so. If you try it and it's too much them go back to week 4, or maybe hold off on the 20 jog until your work week is over and you feel refreshed enough to try it. Nothing wrong with repeating a week or repeating a day of the plan! Good luck :)

Congrats on making it through Week 4. I'm starting Week 5 on Monday. If you were able to complete it, I would suggest moving forward. My question for you would be: what would you do if the following week has you working the same 56 hours?

I'm starting week 5 on Tuesday! So excited.
It's only 30-35 minutes out of your day. Can you squeeze it in?

    Thanks for your replies.

I think I'll take your advice and push forwards
and take a step back if too tired.

There is a chance I'll have a few heavy weeks
so would be bad to start using it as an excuse.

I think I knew this in my heart but just needed a
    little push.

It's really weird, 5 weeks ago I would never have
thought I'd manage week 1 never mind week 5.

Good luck and good running to you all :flowerforyou:

Looking at week 5, the number of minutes run is about 16 for the first two runs which is the same as week 4.
The running segments are slilightly longer than W4. W5D3 has a 20 minute run segment. Keep pressing
forward if you feel good about your last run.

WTG for deciding to push forward. You'll be proud of yourself after. And if your body tells you that you really need to rest, then listen. Best of luck!!

Thanks for posting this, it is a different way for me to think about it. I just finished week 4 and I'm dreading w5d3. It is nice to think that I've run 16 mins (with walking) as opposed to just doing 5 minutes max.

I meant to come back on yesterday and say 'thank you' for all your motivation.
W5 D1 actually felt easier than W4. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's run now
    Thanks again

(AND the scale is down 4lbs this week - rather than the normal 1lb - so super
chuffed went the extra mile - literally)

Just in case anyone was curious, I finished just finished
Week 5 and feel awsome that managed my first ever 20min
run. I did it after a 12 hour shift and am glad I pushed.
Next week is going to be the same and I'm going to push
    forward to Week 6.

    Thanks
