MFP doctor recommended

After writing a quick email to my doctor explaining that I wasn't really losing weight, I was surprised to see that one recommendation she had for me was this website! But I am still discouraged because she mentioned trying this site but eating 1800 calories OR LESS. Her second thought was that I visit a bariatric center. I am still at a loss as what to do. I am a 43yr old female weighing 220. I "run" 3/4 times a week. I eat 2130 calories daily. Now I wonder if I should lower again. What's a girl to do?

Welcome! :flowerforyou: I'd also be interested to see your stats so that we can look at proper calorie numbers. As a runner I know how important it is to have proper fuel. I'd never be able to do what I do on 1800 or less.

I am 5'6'. I say "run" but I am super slow. I run for about 25-28 minutes 3 or 4 times a week.

I would say you are eating to much.

Exerciseing for 1 1/2 hours a week is considered light activity.

So calculating your numbers I get:

    BMR - 1710

    TDEE - 2351

    TDEE -15% Cut target - 1998

I would drop about 150 calories a day and see how that works out.

You were eating at about a 5% cut, so the weight loss would be very slow.

    Hope this helps! :)
