I am taking part in a program to help with my diabetes. It starts with a 21 day cleanse of the system. Then foods that may cause issues with the glucose are eliminated. For 21 days i can eat only protiens and vegetables. Some vegetables are not allowed. That remains to be seen. It includs vitamins and such too.
Anyone have info on this?

If the cleanse is a liquid diet I'd be a little leery of that. If its the clean eating type where you forgo processed foods and sugar then that would be safe. If you aren't already very low carb you may feel pretty yucky cutting out almost all your carbs and just eating non starchy veggies and protein. I spent a few weeks eating like that and it affected my workouts and I never adapted to it. I also had low carb flu (tired, achy, brain dead) although after about a week that got a lot better unless I did a good workout and it would all come back. Eating more sodium helped it some.
Besides feeling kind of yucky, it seems to be reasonably safe to eat that way in the short term. After 4 month of eating about 25 net carbs then upping it to about 50 I still didn't feel great. Dr. put me on new drugs so I can eat a little more and I feel much better. You might want to check with your dr. in case you have health issues that would make this a bad thing.
Since your goal is to add back foods to see what is affecting you bg it sounds more like the elimination diet that is used to find food allergies. I'm sure it will help you figure things out. Personally, I just test after I eat stuff and figure out what is not a good thing and what is. It does take a little longer since it may be a combination of foods or you may have eaten several carbs and you aren't sure which is causing the high.
Good luck. I hope it helps you figure out what you can eat.0
