I am a 36 year old mom of 2 (14 & 12) and work for my fathers family business part time. Prior to that I worked for a Dermatologist for 10 years and love beauty and skincare products. I have commited to a healthy lifestyle change 2.5 years ago when I began MFP. During those 2.5 years I learned portion control and how to count my caloric intake and burn. Then 3.5 months ago I commited to following an at home fitness program and have been following the programs calendar religiously. My body has never felt so strong and lean in MY life. This is my forever lifestyle and am SO excited that I love talking about it with other women and would love for us to come together as a support group to help motivate, encourage and hold each other accountable. I am an independent beachbody coach and am excited and here to help you ladies along the way!!!!

Hi, My name is Shayna. I just turned 32. I am a mom of two. 4/12 and 1 1/2. I am lucky enough to stay home with them.
I started MFP when my son was two months old. I wanted to lose the baby fat while my husband was gone. I was a size 8 before getting pg and got down to a size 2! I use to eat fast food everyday and never exercised. I love my new life style. I love working out everyday.
I use to just throw in a workout dvd or do zumba, run on the treadmill or use the elliptical. Whatever I felt like.
Then I discovered these "programs" I did Ripped in 30, then Insanity, now ChaLean Extream. Next Turbo fire or Brazil Butt lift. I love following the program and being told what to do each day, but I do miss getting to burn a bunch of calories.

Hi my name is Rosalyn most people call me Ros and I'm 35 yrs old. I've been married for over 16 yrs with 3 kids a boy and 2 girls. I work from home as a Certified Coding Specialist for a local well known Acute Care Hospital. I've been with this company for over 12 yrs and I love it. I discovered MFP while reading a friend of mine status on Facebook raving about how supportive the site was and how the site helped her lose 20 lbs so I decided to become a member and have been a fan since. I decided it was time for a lifestyle change and started doing fitness dvds at home. I've done Chalean Extreme, and Insanity. After a while I fell off the bandwagon due to personal reasons, but no more excuses I'm here to reach my goal and continue on to a healthier lifestyle. I have a personal trainer and have been tracking my calories, trying to stay a way from processed foods and eat more whole foods. I'm hoping to reach my goal or come close to it by my birthday which is in January. I decided to start a cleanse tomorrow for 10 days to give my body a little jump start then I'm back to my normal routine. Good luck to everyone on MFP together we can do this!

I just started the Lean phase this week. I find it a bit harder, but I love being pushed!
  • My name is Ashley and I am a mother of one to a VERY energetic 3yr old boy :))
I am a gym junkie, LOVE lifting weights and staying in shape so I can keep up with my bundle of joy!! I think the hardest part for me is sticking with a healthy diet and less cheating myself. I tend to give up quickly and then stress out when I don't see results... Motivation is key to getting through this and I am trying to find a way to keep my attention on my goals... How do you keep motivated?!

What a great idea for a group!! Thank you so much. I am always looking for more support.

My name is Katie. I am a 31 year old mother of a 12 1/2 year old. I am currently working as a Treatment Coordinator for a Physical Therapy office. My life has consisted of yo-yo diets and changes in my weight. This last month has been a real eye opener when I re-discoverd MFP and saw when I last logged in (July 2011) I had gained 20 pounds since then :( I am ready for a change and excited for this journey.

I am looking forward to hopefully supporting anyone as much as I can and getting your support. Like I said, I'm always looking for more help so please feel free to add me.

    We can do this!!!

Let's get you off the yo-yo dieting and get you going on a great path. Most important is telling yourself that fitness is fun and great for your well being, and portion control is important. If you can get your portions, fitness and mind right, then your well on your way to success!!!! Im excited to witness this for you...

Ashley ~ I stay motivated by each change I see in my body. When I saw my body changing and muscles pop out that i never knew i had + the group of ladies I have on my fb support group and now you guys i feel responsible to keep it up. And now it has become a habit for me.... i'm happy, i feel AWESOME, and i LOVE talking fitness and health and beauty and family... I can go on forever.

I also love the gym, strength training and intervals. I am currently on the Push phase of ChaLEAN Extreme which is a 90 day at home (which was new to me) but it reall has given me GREAT results and i am loving the trainer because she has great motivational words that I need!

I'm going to try to do the Master Cleanse for the minimum 10 days. I've read mixed reviews, but I'm willing to try it for myself to see how it works for me, and if all goes well I'll be doing one every 6-12 months.

Hey Hey! My name's Korrie and I'm 27 years old. I recently just started instructing Pilates after practicing for about two years. This is what really kicked started my fitness goals. I never really focused on amount lost, more of how my body looked, and by measurements. I discovered MFP early 2011 and became heavily dedicated towards the end of the year and still going strong! I love the community aspect, and not just seeing infomercials that motivate you at 1AM.. here are actual people with actual real time achievement/struggles. I have never really stuck to a strict diet, I have attempted many! I find the best eating plan is to just make good decisions, allow yourself some slack here and there. You do only live once as cheesy as that sounds! I try cleanses, but truly to empty toxins out of the body and restart. This whole journey has been really rewarding for me and encouraing to my friends. I cook more, I'm active, and just over all feel healthy. I'm excited to join this group with like minded people and hopefully enourage and share good things! Nice to meet you all :)

Awesome! It sounds like this is a GREAT group of ladies!!!
  • I'm a lot younger than everyone else seems to be but I don't think it matters :) As long as we're all working toward a common goal and support each other x I'm 19 years old, 59kg and 5'6". This wouldn't bother me (and certainly didn't bother my doctor) but this was a 11kg weight gain in 3 months - I got quite sick and needless to say, put on weight. I'm now living in Perth, Australia all on my lonesome (my family all live in Christchurch, New Zealand) and trying to lose this weight by myself seems nigh on impossible. I've got a gym membership, but never have the time to use it, I've been trying to diet, but keep falling into the binge bin :/ I need to change this and I can't do it by myself - any tips and hints would be great! I'm a mesomoprphic vegetarian who's lactose intollerent, gluten free, allergic to peanuts and has a possible thyroid problem... PLEASE HELP! X

In 7 weeks I have gone from prego weight of 215 to 185 so I have about 35 to go. So far I have been doing C25K and Tae Bo, but am open to different things I can do at home. I'm also open for new friends if anyone wants. Take care and I look forward to getting to know you ladies!

Don't get on yourself for what you haven't done, or how you have slipped up. You can start over today. Try again! We ALL binge but allow yourself a cheat day. The greatest thing is you can start over. Just don't quit! I'm going to send you a PM.

You are on the right track. I have a very close friend (who is also in this group) that had a baby almost 2 years ago now. But she was back to her highschool weight and back in her smallest jeans a little over a year after having her baby! She looks amazing and she also started off with MFP, C25K, then some at home fitness programs. She looks SO awesome and she's got the energy now to keep up with her almost 2 year old. You'll get there, if you put your mind to it and make a promise to yourself. YOU WILL DO IT!

    Hi, everyone!

I'm a bit older than those of you who have posted so far, but even grandmothers want to be chic!

I'm 58-years-old. 5'2". I am currently unemployed. I'd like to change that status in early fall.

Over the past 35 years I've lost HUNDREDS of pounds. Unfortunately, I've gained them all back. My highest ever was 182. In March I was back close to it, at 175 (by the gym's scale. If I had dared to weigh in at home, it would have been about 178).

My husband of five years and I recently decided to change our lifestyle. We joined an exercise club in March, and participated in their nutrition/exercise program, which they call "90 Commit to Get Fit." It was during that program that I was introduced to MFP, and we have been entering our activities and food ever since. Since we completed the program, I've become more active on MFP.

The club's scale showed that I dropped 20 pounds during that 13 week program. And that was without being able to do much of the exercising, as I had a stress fracture in my knee during week one! Unfortunately, as I favored the knee I did other things: I ended up with a blood clot (DVT), developed a limp and have some soft-tissue damage. I'm having Physical Therapy right now, to strengthen my knee and core, and to improve my balance.

At the moment I am unable to do many of the high-impact exercise programs, but I still have information that I can share, and can use encouragement as I make my journey to be in the best physical shape I've ever been in as an adult.

The other day I heard the song, "Itsy Bitsy, Teenie Weenie, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" ... I immediately made it a secret goal: To be able to look good, wearing one of those in public by the time I hit 60! Whoo hoo! (Next summer, when I'm 59 would be even better!)

My scale is more cruel than the one at the gym, but I am finally catching up with what they reported. Today I weighted in at 156.6#. Slow and steady. Eating right for the first time in my life. Accepting that this isn't temporary -- I have made a life-long commitment. Feeling good, and having energy. Trying to accept the fact that this injury is going to take a while to repair, and if I rush it, it will take longer. (I've made several pushes that have set me back.)

The nutrition part has become fairly easy for me. The exercise part is going to be the challenge.

    Thanks!

    Bonnie

Hello everyone !! My name is Ashley, I'm 25, 5'7 and I am a proud mother of a very outgoing 3 1/2 year old girl ! After my pregnancy, I hadn't really gained weight but I did get a little more flab in a couple places around my body. Since she is almost 4 and I still have that fat, I am so wanting to get rid of it. I have done different diets through out the years but they have definitively been yo-yo diets. I am ready to move past the yo-yo diets and get my butt in gear. I'm so glad to hear other people stories and see what they are doing to lose weight and what works for them. It is a major motivation !! I'm so looking forward to my journey ahead of me !!

Oh Bonnie! I'm so glad you joined us! I loved reading your story. The greatest thing I have found is when I do specifically Beachbody's fitness DVD's at home they show you at least 1 girl in the group doing a low impact version of the work out. In fact, I am doing a strength & interval training one called ChaLEAN Extreme and there is a woman I watch the most - she is 62! She shows you how to do ALL of the workouts low impact and she looks great! You've got the nutrition part down, thats half the battle! so, I'm excited for you! I'll PM you with more information. You are headed down the right path!

Welcome Ashley! I've got a friend who had a baby just barely 2 years ago. A few months after she had her baby girl she made the decision to COMMIT to a change. She did C25k, used MFP, ChaLEAN Extreme, Brazil Butt Lift and now shes doing turbo fire. She tells me she is in the BEST shape of her life and down to the size she hasn't been in since highschool. You should see her she looks awesome. So, with that said, I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT TOO! You just have to make the promise to yourself, commit and just do it. We follow the beachbody at home fitness DVDS because I personally find it easy to follow their calendars that come with each program. I need thing to follow and it works out perfect. YOU CAN do it!!! Your already on MFP and that is something I recommend to EVERYONE. MFP is SO important to track those daily cals.

Mia!! awesome!!! I am in the 2nd round of ChaLEAN Extreme, girl you are going to LOVEEEE iT! Turbo Fire is my next program. I'm so excited to see how you enjoy CE. The first round I did was called the Burn Phase. I LOVED this phase because she fires up your muscles, you feel them burning and there is NO way fat could exist where you feel that burn. This phase is heavy reps of 12 with 1 rest day. Now that i'm in the Push phase we are doing HEAVIER (like the heaviest you could possibly lift) weights for total muscle failure but less reps of at least 6-8. I get 2 rest days in this phase. I seriously can't believe how strong I am. I took the picture in my icon in this phase, can you see my shoulders!? i NEVER had those before. It's crazy when I look at my body now and see muscle definition where I never ever ever ever saw it before. I love it. I'm excited for Turbo Fire now tho.
  • Now Im excited about CE :D haha. Good job with the workouts, you really look amazing :) I hope I will end up with the same results as you will, and if you liked CE, you will absolutely LOVE TF because its just funfunfun :D What is the best equipment to have for CE in the Burn Phase, just to be prepared :)

She uses SELECT TECH weights (those allow you to increase by 1/2 lbs as well) but I have a different version of those weights by Nike (or it may be adidas) i'll have to look. I started out using free weights. You'll want 5's, 8's, 10's, 15's and possibly 20's. Yes you WILL be able to lift ALOT (more then you imagine you can) its amazing how strong she gets you.

You will also need the thigh toner that comes with the program itself.

    Hi everyone!

I am 24, I'm a wife & a SAHM to two (4 & 1.5). I have been doing MFP for awhile now. I love it! My main struggles are portion control (learning this, slowly but surely) and late night snacking on fatty/salty foods. I belong to a gym, and I love it. When I first joined in the winter, I was going every day, mainly to get out of the house. Now that it's summer, I'm trying to balance being outside with the kids & getting to the gym every day. I've been slacking a lot lately and it shows. I'm feeling sluggish and just blah. I'm back at it this week and my goal is to stay committed throughout the summer and get back to being a gym rat :) It's so good for my sanity as well as my body!

Thanks for the invite to the group, what a great idea!

Hey, my name is Jasmine, and I am 17 years old. I am just entering my senior year and I am homeschooled. When I was 4 years old I was in a fire, and had a great recovery from that. I had always been tiny, but in the last two years I have gained about 30 pounds. This is due to the fact that I have been sick and the doctors don't know why, so they try various medicines all the time, and I also have thyroid disease. I was in okay shape a couple months ago, but then my boyfriend of 3 years broke up with me and things went downhill from there. Needless to say that I am ready to lose all the weight I've gained and become healthier. I have done Zumba and circuit training plus walking. Not sure what else I could do! I have noticed that as I eat healthy and exercise I am feeling happier :) This is a great group to be in!

    Thanks Jasmine(:

Jasmine ~ I am so glad you are here too. What a horrible thing to experience at such a young age, I wish you great health. I just want to give you the biggest hug because it seems like you have been through alot. Please know, if you ever need me you can always PM me if you need someone to talk too. I wish at 17 I was as mature and as smart as you are. Im happy your here!!!!
