Here is my dilemma. I was diagnosed with pre-diabets about 3 weeks ago (i'm genetically predisposed) . My endcronologist told me to eventually lose 30 pounds based off my BMI.
I am 5'3 and weighed 174 at the time. But.... I have a ton of muscle so I was a size12. She told me i was obese. I disagree. Anyhow she told me to do the scarsdale diet. I refuse as I don't think I need to lose 30 pounds. I'm thinking 15 total would do me good.
Looking at the diet it says you can't exercise. Well i have to exercise somewhat. Here is my problem. When I go back to her in about 4 weeks I will not have lost anywhere near the 15 pounds she wanted gone. I am currently at 170 and have dropped to a size 9.
What am I going to tell her. I am letting this stress me out to no end. My clothes fit nicer. Husband loves the muscle I've built. Im doing cardio and weights. (have a back injury so I take it slow). my body is transforming from the diet- for lack of a better word- and exercise. Not from no stinking restrictive glorified atkins diet.
How do I make her see that I am getting healthier but the scale doesn't show it??
And shouldn't she know that BMI is an outdated way to measure fitness?
