So I went on vacation this week. I decided to repeat week 2 rather than move on to week 3..........and am I glad that I did! I only got out two times, (Monday, and then again today. It was just so hot where we were camping, and too hard to get up in the morning after staying up too late by the fire.

Next week I will be starting week 3 and I am a little bit freaked out about running for those 3 minute stretches!

I am at exactly the same point as I just finished W2D3 today. I think I can handle the 3 minute stretches.... at least the first one, the second one may be tougher. I was analyzing the program earlier and week 4 is where I become apprehensive. For 3 weeks they've had us running 9 minutes per session (just broke it up differently), but on week 4 it is increased to 16 minutes.

One lesson I've had to learn is to slow down. Up to this point, at least aerobically, my body want to run 10mm, my knees seem much more comfortable around 11mm, so 11 it is. If I need to slow to 12mm to do the 3 minutes I will do that as well.

I think you can do it! You've been running 3 weeks now, eat well and get some good rest over the weekend, slow down if necessary and have a positive attitude. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the encouragement! I have had to slow myself down as well. When I started W1D1 I went full out because I was so pumped........and ended up struggling because of it. Since then I have been running at a slower pace (not sure of my exact speed) and it has gone much more smoothly. If I have to slow it down even more for the 3 minute stretches, so be it.........the speed can come later.

Just touching base here. Finished W3D1 and did both 3 min segments. The second, as you would guess was tougher and as luck would have it, started uphill. Ran the first 3 min segment at 11:41 pace the second at 11:50. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the update! Going to go out and do W3D1 this morning. I don't really have any hills to speak of when I go out..........just a slight incline on one of the roads. Hopefully the 3 min. segments will go as smoothly for me as they have for you.
