water retention..what do you do?

Here in our state we are hitting record highs of 105, etc.
I am drinking 13-17 glasses of water a day. I am also watching my sodium the best I can. I noticed today that I gained just 5 lbs in nothing but water I am sure.
What do you do in instances like this. Do you keep trudging along sticking to your guns or do you make a few changes to get you thru? I don't want to stop drinking my water and I will stick to my calories, etc. but just want to make sure I am doing what I need to. I know once this heat wave is over the water gain should go to.

Anyone else been dealing with this?

Keep drinking. You want to stay hydrated in this weather. Your body will start balancing it out and you don't want to risk heat stroke.

Drink, drink, drink. That's the best you can do. It will level off over time.

I would just keep drinking and keep away from the scales. You KNOW that any weight gain is water so don't put yourself through the agony of weighing if you can't just look at the numbers in an 'interesting what a difference a bit of water makes' way.
