Just a couple of notes off the top of my mind right quick.
One of the first tools to loosing weight is actually logging your meals and snacks. You can set your settings to private if you would like, cause the most important person that needs to see it is you. It is the best way to accept how you eat and to start working to modify it. Takes time, so be patient with it. In no time you will be reading labels on cans and packages to get the most (or is it less?) out of your food. Go hard on the veggies. They will fill you up and not fill you out. Careful on the meats, and I personally try to stay away from processed meats. Not a lot good there if you want to loose weight, have high blood pressure, high Cholesterol...
As far as exercise, find somehting you enjoy. If you don't, you will not keep doing it. I started riding bicycle. Even that takes time. I bought the bike 2 years before I ever rode it. But when I did finally make myself get on it, I actually enjoyed it. Now I can't get enough of it, and have even started riding to challenge myself.

Someone told me once that it takes 21 days to set a habit. Not sure if that is true, but give yourself that long on this program just for the heck of it. Nothing to loose but a little logging time and maybe some weight. Just remember to be safe and make it fun.
And speaking of that, you need to talk to your doc before you really get into it, and then if you loose a large amount quickish, you might want to have him check you out again. I ended up with low iron because of the exercise and not taking in enough iron. That is odd for a male. Men usually have high iron counts.

Anyway, Good Luck!

21 days to set a habit? I always find an excuse to get out of a habit quickly (going away for the weekend, overtime, birthdays etc.) any excuse really.

I'm going away this Wednesday for a 2 night break (excuses already!) but when I get back Friday, I have nothing else that can 'interrupt' routines. So, Dark Wizzard, as of Friday, I am going to get myself into a habit with no excuses for 21 days! Hmmm...

I like it! 21 days to change my mind set and focus on new ideals of living!! :)
  • I especially like what you said about the exercise. If I don't like it at least a little bit, I won't stick with it.
