Help! I'm starting to feel hungry......

The first 5 weeks of very low carb, I was seldom hungry. I had to force myself to eat my daily calories.
Week 6, I want to eat all the time. I can't figure out why and it's making me super annoyed.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Any suggestions on why this is happening?

Thanks,
Debbie

it does happen occasionally and sometimes for no discernible reason, but if you've been lifting weights or have worked out extra hard, it could be that your metabolism has bumped up, if the scale has recently moved more than normal - could be metabolism also. If you've had an extra lot of protein in the last day or two (remember protein converts to glucose and can eventually affect insulin - which can make you crave-y), you could be having the effects of a carb cycle, also be sure you're not carb creeping.

What to do about it? feed it, but feed it responsibly - fats and proteins make you feel fuller (cheese and ham are my go-to snacks if I have sodium to spare). Watch the scale though. the last thing you want to do is stay hungry and be tempted to stray from plan.

    Good luck!

I had a few days like that last week - I was CRAZY hungry. But I ate and I still lose. Just like above, stick to high fat! Sometimes it's really hard :( I like to put heavy whipping cream with unsweetened almond milk and bland with ice with a smidge of protein powder for taste. Soooo good and refreshing! And high in fat!

It is so hard for us to listen to our bodies when we have been conditioned to eating around the clock! Now is the time to listen to your body! If you are hungry, eat! You are now at the place in your regime you know what your go to foods should be. Make a 5 lbs bag of chicken wings up and keep them in the frig! Cook up some bacon and an egg. Better yet, boil up a dozen eggs and keep them in the frig for days like this. I have found in the past when I am hungry my body is morphing! I am shrinking and reshaping! As long as you are eating healthy fats, proteins and drinking water you will continue to lose weight! And here is to the "whoosh" that is coming on the scale!
