100 days of primal

So - I have decided to track religiously for 100 days of primal eating. I am tracking measurements and macro's and I've set up an excel chart. I am not necessarily going to be strict primal but will follow the 90% rule. I can't give up my wine :-)

I want to see what it looks like over 100 days. Instead of obsessing over the scale every week I am just going to treat it as a 100 day experiment and focus only on what I will learn after the 100 days.

    That sounds fantastic - good luck! Maybe take some photos as well so that you can track your general appearance, not just weight but skin tone etc.

    If possible, go get your cholesterol and other bloodwork checked now, and then again in 100 days. I did that (except mine was for only 6 weeks) and saw everything change for the better. It's great data to go in your excel spreadsheet. :wink:

    Good for you! To me, that's what this way of eating is all about ... not the scale, instead about eating good food and food that's good for you.

    Moderate wine, chocolate daily, some cheese, bacon all were in my 90 self experiment. I did not have the resources of mfp or mda when I started so wasn't smart enough to track anything other than my scale. Goal was about 12 lbs. Hit 30 without a bump. Laughed everytime I stepped on the scale. Did before and after bf% tests, burned only fat. Did post cholesterol and my numbers were awesome.

    Stay the course. You will be told you are killing yourself. In 30 days you will be healthier than anyone who tells you that. Congrats on making your health a priority. Check in and let us know how the n=1 experiment goes.

    Good idea! I'm going to see how quickly I can get that done.

    Most pharmacies that have a walk in clinic can do it with no appointment. My insurance paid for it as well (minus the copay of $25). I did it when starting paleo and then had it done again at my doctor 6 weeks later (also covered by insurance). It was great to see the difference that only 6 weeks made. VERY motivating!!

    Unfortunately I live in Canada, well fortunately, I guess cause it is all free, but I have to book an appt with the Dr. I actually called them and they said that the blood tests I had done last month for my yearly check-up were thorough ones so I am going to use those as my baseline.

    I actually managed to stay primal last night / today even though I have been sitting in Surgery with my son who broke his elbow yesterday and had to get pins inserted. NOT a lot of primal options here. Luckily I had brought strawberries with me and I bought a piece of cheese. Last night I was too sick with worry to eat so I'll just call it an episode of IF.
