Going backwards...

No, not running backwards, that would just be silly.
Well, due to a booze related foot injury I've had to take two weeks off running. I was at Week 6 and then took the fortnight off and started again on Monday.
I ran badly Monday and even more badly today. I'm struggling like it is week 1 again and I have a 5K on Saturday. Wah! :-(
This has all coincided with me lowering my calorfies from 2000 to 1650. I'm wondering how much is the two weeks off and how much I'm suffering from a lower calorie intake.
Sigh. Any tips to get me over this wall? Just a bit of encouragement...

booze related foot injury eh? hope it was fun & not tragic!
how is your energy level with the lower calories? If it's really dragging you down throughout the day then maybe that's the culprit. Otherwise I'd just make sure to get a snack or a small meal in, at least an hour or two before your runs. It's amazing how our body adapts to change or lack thereof so give it a few more tries this week, do your best even if you have to go back to W5 or W4 and see if your body remembers that mileage that you've already put in.... Hopefully it should come back:)
Best of luck on the 5K! Just enjoy it:flowerforyou:0
