Cut Percentages

In reading many of the posts and articles here, it is widely recommended to do a 15% cut off TDEE. I'm curious as to why a 20% cut is not used (its an option on the Scooby calculator). Is there any point at which you should change the cut percentage?
Thanks for the help!

For me and my recommendations, the cut % is based on how much weight you have to lose.
If you have a lot, you can get away with a 20% cut (like I do).
However, the problem lies in that if you use a 20% cut, your exercise will consistently put you below your bmr, and you have to eat back a few extra calories to reach there.
Also this is a slow and steady approach0
