My First 5K

I ran my 1st 5K on the 4th of July. It was humid and about 80 degrees by 8 am. I am on week 6 and have only run on my treadmill. Everyone told me it was different running outside and they weren't kidding! It didn't help that the race started with a hill and had about 4 others throughout the race. I ran up the first one, but from then on out I had to walk the hills. I ran it in 34:25 which isn't too bad, but I felt "out of my element" the whole time. Never felt like I could establish a comfortable pace and was sucking air! My plantar's fasciitis didn't bother me during the race, but 2 days later my foot is still KILLING me! Next time, I will practice running outside before a race. Beginning week 7 today- I'm determined to finish the program, although I am not sure if I "enjoy" running...yet :)

    Well done you!

I did my first today in monsoon weather, lots of jumping through puddles and mud up to my knees. It was great. :-) I did mine in 35.20.
