No dates here but I did spend time with my family to include my brother and his wife celebrating his 30th birthday.. and today I celebrate mine!
Happy Birthday !!!:drinker:0 -
I had a great date Friday night! we went out for dinner and then sat at my place and talked until 3:30 am. There was such a connection there. We are seeing each other again this Friday.
Unfortunately on Sat. I held my Aunts hand as she lost her two year battle to cancer
On Sunday I found a sympathy card on my car windsheild from my friday date ... he didnt want to wake me in case I was actually sleeping .....
My condolences on your loss *huge hug*0 -
I am about as boring as they come. Since I was low on gas, was not able to make it to my water aerobics class in another town. So instead I mowed my back yard, and then decided to hand wash my car. Well when I did that, I wrenched a muscle in my lower back twisting wrong. Needless to say did not do much after that. Got a few texts from the guy I have been seeing. He is back east with his son until the 20th. It was nice to know he was thinking of me even while on vacation. I had not texted him, I said he is on vacay so I will not disturb him. If he wanted to talk to me he knew where to find me. Made me smile knowing he was thinking of me.
Sunday I didnt do jack since my back was hurting - ice and heat was about all I did. Oh joy.
Monday back to the grind. Up at 330 to go to the gym and tada busting my tush at work.0 -
thank you for everyone's condolensces ....0

Happy birthday, Amber!
And sorry for your loss, hco. {{hugs}}
My weekend was spent with Steve (I guess I can quit calling him Sugar Lips, lol). I had to work Friday night so I didn't see him till Saturday morning. We went fishing again, and once more I caught the biggest fish (he teases me about it). Afterwards we cooked dinner, caught up on True Blood, did some hanky panky, etc.
Sunday we just kinda relaxed around his place. He made strawberry pancakes, eggs, and bacon for us and all of our dogs, lol. We did go see Ted in the afternoon and then relaxed more later. It was a very nice weekend.0 -
I played so much WoW.
Drank with my roomie.
Volunteered with the animal rescue...
It was awesome0 -

I'm glad you met a nice guy. So sorry about your aunt.

My weekend started around 10am on Tuesday, after starting my week about 15 minutes before. By Friday night I had pretty much run out of things to do. Did see Savages and checked out an air museum though. Now to find something to do next weekend.0

I know I shouldn't but I take offense to the talk about men over 40....
No need to take offense. Men and women at any age can seem old. It's a choice to keep LIVING! I went out with someone Friday who seems much older than 44... it's a shame really. A lot of life still ahead at that age...
I'm not dating women, haha, so I can't comment on whether the same happens to them, but far too many men I've met so far over 40 just seem to be content to finish life with no zeal. Don't let that be you :flowerforyou:0 -
Ok so Friday night I went to a rock club to see my friends brothers band. I was kinda bumed cause she invited FWB and I was hoping to have a new hunting ground lol... THen I got to this club looked at him and said I have never been so happy to have you out with me. It was like a band 80's movie exploded. My friends brothers band was a cover band. Now I have no problem with cover bands ..normally. BUt this was a 90 minute drive and thier guitar player was horrendous. Plus she didnt tell us they were a cover band. Me and FWB were the youngest people in the bar and had to stick to each other like glue... The ultimate insult was the beer was WARM... How the hell does beer come out of the tap warm. Still had fun though cause FWB and I just got really drunk since neither of us were driving then we came back to my house and passed out..
Saturday I stayed home while my sister went out for a change. I was in bed by 1 and she was home by 3. 330 my phone started blowing up power plant wanted me to come out and drink but I was passed out...5am FWB calls me to go out and have breakfast so we did lol. I drove though cause he was trashed but he paid. Then we came home played around and passed out.
Sunday FWb hung out with me til around 5 watching SVU and overdosing on coffee... I stayed home sunday night
However tonight is one of my girls birthdays and were all heading to the bar to celebrate. Kareoke and drinks time... :drinker:
BTW MR. Nice guy has been texting me every day since he left for vegas and he told me that he has an awesome birthday present for me when he gets back.. He'll be back right before my birthday and I gotta say I'm kinda excited to see him :blushing:0 -
Friday: Started on a road trip to Santa Cruz. We stopped at Six Flags on the way with my brother, his friends, and my friend. I went on my first upside down roller coaster. I still don't know how they talked me into that one...
Saturday: Went to the beach at Santa Cruz (the same day there was a shark attack!) Thankfully, none of us went in the water that day, we just laid on the beach and relaxed. Then, we walked down the boardwalk and drove home.
Sunday: I laid at home in my pjs. Made brownies and started planning on what to wear for my date Thursday.0 -

I know I shouldn't but I take offense to the talk about men over 40....
My only issue with older men is how they dress.
No doubt you are the exception, but American women in general - especially younger women - are terribly dressers.
African-American ladies tend to dress well, however.

Is this a tit for tat comment, or are you serious? :laugh:0 -

Was going to chime in here but decided I need to zip my lip.0 -

It's a generalization, of course. Some American women do dress very well. But yes, I'm serious.
When I moved back to the US for a few years, after being in Europe for over 10 years at the time, one of the first things I noticed was the difference in how European women (mainly continental, didn't spend too much time in the UK) dressed and how American women dressed. Let's just say "convenience" seemed to be the main fashion driver in the US at the time. And work attire seemed to be quite masculine, with an emphasis on asexual. Grey was the in color. Of course, there are huge differences between New York and Dallas, San Francisco and Raleigh. And women over 40 dressed much better than the younger ladies.
The men under 50 in the US dressed like 16-year olds: baggy shorts, jeans, baggy t-shirts, baggy sports jerseys, sneakers, baseball cap. At work, the same brown dockers, the same buttoned down shirts.
If you're bored and at Charles DeGaulle sometime, watch the people leaving any plane originating in the US. I guarantee you it will be super easy to spot the Americans, just by their attire. Probably a bit harder at Heathrow, but only marginally so.
NB: this was 5 years ago, so perhaps it's changed for the better?

When I'm in Las Vegas, I can tell the Europeans from the Americans. However, I tend to think WTF about the Europeans. It's 110 degrees outside and they're on vacation. Why are they wearing long-sleeves, sport jackets, etc.?0 -

I'll agree it's extremely easy to tell the difference between Americans and Continental Europeans. I used to play the same game when flying Lufthansa a lot last year but it's too easy, even if their clothes were difficult to tell by, the footwear always gave it away. But European Men under 40 dress like hell too, Ultra tight jeans and tight graphic t-shirts that look like Ronald McDonald vomited on them.0 -

I agree with the American's dress for comfort not looks when traveling which I blame the TSA for since it is much easier to get through security in flip flips, jeans and a T. Then nice shoes, jewelry, coats, etc.
Most employers have dress codes so it is easier to dress in a "uniform" of the same thing over and over again.
Most women's personal style only comes out when they are have personal time which in this day is not often. Seeing that we are in an economic recession right now spending money on non-utilitarian clothes is a splurge that some cannot afford.0 -
Where I was going with the dressing thing was older men seem to dress like it's still the late 70's & early 80's. Shirts tucked in. Plain white tennis shoes with jeans.0

My weekend was ok but I had to work which sucked. Friday night I went on a second date from Match.com which was great. Saturday I worked and then relaxed and took some time for myself. Sunday I went on another second date from Match.com which wasn't bad.
I really like this one guy I met and I am thinking about not seeing anyone else... Is it too soon to put all my eggs in one basket? I have only been on 3 dates with the guy I am really into... Advice?0 -

Didn't you just start online dating? If so... I'd say it would be pretty rare that you struck gold this early, I wouldn't lock in just yet.0 -

I agree, you shouldn't just focus on just him yet, give it at least a month.0 -

Thats what I was thinking and I know how rare it would be to have found someone perfect for me in the 2.5 weeks I have been on the site. But he SEEMS so great for me and says he feels similarly. Neither of us have talked about whether we are seeing other people and no one is talking about being exclusive.0

After work on Saturday, I went to IHOP with some of my coworkers. Then we went to seductions which was interesting. I am finding that my biggest issue isn't my looks, its my social awkwardness.
I had great time and it made it not quite so bad to work all the time.0
