Aspartame/Sugar Alcohol sensitivities?

I've done the keto diet before, and I've lost around 40-45 pounds in 3.5 months. My scale-wise weight loss seems to be slower this time and I'm trying to figure out why. Since I started being strict with myself and working out, I've steadily lost. I understand that the workout I'm doing is also building muscle and causing my muscles to retain water, and that leads to slower scale movement. The one thing I'm slightly concerned with is that I've read sugar alcohols can throw me out of ketosis - now, due to me still steadily losing, I don't think they're throwing me out (I know, you're either in it or you're out of it) but is it possible that they are slowing my progress? I've been drinking a moderate amount of diet soda as of late to satisfy sweet cravings.
So, do you guys think it's just my workout and building muscle, or do you think maybe it's the aspartame? I think I'm gonna give up diet soda for a week and see if it makes a difference, but I'd like to know what you guys think too.

yeah sugar alcohols can definitely stall you. you shouldn't eat them until you are close to goal.
aspartame also can make people stall, so giving them up for a week to see is a good idea.0 -
Unless you're spending a couple of hours a day in the gym and eating tons of protein, your muscles won't build fast enough to slow you down, especially for women. I've been doing strength training three days a week and I don't really slow down or stall because of it. So chances are it's not your muscles slowing you down.
If you suspect it's the artificial sweeteners, definitely try dropping it for a week and see what happens. I had been eating Joseph's lavash bread everyday for a week and even though I remained in ketosis, it stalled my weight loss completely. Yet I usually have some sucralose everyday, usually in a Powerade Zero or Rockstar Zero. I've also heard bad things about sugar alcohols and plateauing, so that could be messing with you as well.
Everyone has different reactions to things, so cutting the aspartame and sugar alcohols is the first thing I'd try. Good luck!0
