Im trying to ensure im at the right activity level....im 44, female, 196 pounds and want to lose 23 pounds. Im trying to ensure im eating enough without too much :)

My workout routine is as follows :
monday - rest day
tuesday - run for a hour (burn about 720 calories)
wednesday - rest day
thursday - 45 mins body pump + 45 mins on cross trainer + 30 mins PT session of weights (burn 900-1000 calories)
friday - 60 mins body pump (sometimes 45 mins cross trainer as well) - pump by itself i will burn approx 500 calories
saturday - 10km run plus a 60 minute body pump class (usually burn about 1600-1700 calories)
sunday - rest day

Also at this point would people recommend a 10% or 15% cut? Im 5 days into my cut and have been eating 2200 cals (cant remember the exact number...i think 2257?) and have lost 2 pounds.....so all on target....but just want to make sure I am doing the right thing for long term results. Im thinking maybe strenuous with a 15% cut? When i did my reset i ate 2773 and gained 3 pounds if that helps :)

    Hi,

My routine is similar to yours except I don't run I cycle, but my calorie burn is pretty similar. I was advised on here to put my activity level at strenuous and go for a 15% cut. I'm probably not lifting as much as you though - 3 body pump classes that's hardcore!!:drinker:

Well, you're putting in a minimum of 6 hours a week of pretty hardcore stuff. According to Scooby, that's strenuous exercise. Scooby equates 5-6 hours a week as strenuous.

As far as the cut, I'd start at either 10% or 15%. Start slow. You're doing a lot, and your body needs a lot to fuel it.

going by hours of activity you should be in the highest level. i stopped adding up your minutes when i got to 360 and your week wasn't over yet! if you're doing this much and only in strenuous i'm definitely overeating - i'm also eating strenuous, but do cardio 5 days a week for a little over an hour a time. hmm....

ETA: ok, i'm not sure how long 10km is. are you going over 6 hours a week of exercise?

Takes me a lil over a hour to run 10kms so just over 6 hours (by about 15 mins) I did adjust my cals yesterday to strenuous with a 15% cut n actually had a significant drop on the scales over night (am back at my reset start weight sp have lost about 3 pounds this week)
