No wonder!

Well, I just got back from seeing the Dr & getting my test results. Last week my TSH was almost 5 this week its 7.43; T3 is 1.1; t4 is 16.4
Its no wonder I'm in such a brain fog & metabolism is slowing down. I actually got the Dr. that doesn't care about T3 & T4; and he doesn't like natural thyroid, but went ahead & gave me a prescription for it. Wants me to get tested again in a week, to see if the dose is helping. I can't get in to see the NP till next week, so I was so glad to get the prescription from him. Pretty cheap too!
I picked it up & took a dose right away!! I need relief!
My daughter & her family will be arriving tonight. I sure need some energy!!!
Oh, he also said the wt. gain would be from the thyroid levels going out of whack... :frown:
Thanks friends, for sticking in here with me. Its great to talk to people who understand & sympathize! :flowerforyou:

Yet he doesn't care about T3 and T4 but look at all the symptoms you are experiencing?

    Weird.

So glad that despite the fact that he doesn't like natural thyroid, that he agreed to give it to you anyway. I wish my Dr. did!!

I hope that you get a surge of energy for your family's visit - and that it continues to be a good thing for you!!! Keep us posted!

    Thanks Elizabeth,
Ya, he was prescribing to "fix" the TSH level... He did try to talk me out of it, but then said fine, you can try it. I agreed, never know till you try. (maybe his being a young Dr... he was being respectful)? Next Wednesday I will go see NP & get her take on amounts, etc.

I'm not familiar with the natural thyroid, but it seemed to take weeks and weeks for synthroid to kick in for me when it was first prescribed. If your numbers aren't better in a week with the natural thyroid, I'd suggest telling him you'd like to give it a bit more time. Maybe someone else can comment on how quickly you should start to see a turn around with the natural thyroid?

Oh ya, we're just watching it closely to probably "add" to it... I'm only on 15 mg. Because last time, with synthroid, I went hyperthyroid on a low dose. I'm going to give it a good try. The pharmisist & Dr both said I should start feeling an improvement in a couple of days. I sure hope so! We will be getting company tonight that will stay for 2 weeks... gotta love energetic & hungry grandchildren!:drinker:
