figuring ChaLean calories burned into TDEE?

Hi,
I am just about to start ChaLean. I would like to recalculate my TDEE to include these workouts. What is the best way for me to estimate how many calories I'm burning in the workouts? I don't have any devices, so I need to estimate.

MFP's database says that a 150-lb person would burn 153 calories in 45 minutes of lifting.
Sounds a little low. . .

Thanks!

I wore my HRM and it said I burned 283 calories during one of the workouts. I'm 160 pounds. I don't know if that's truly accurate though because I've read on this site that HRMs are not accurate for weight-lifting and should only be worn for cardio. I usually just log my burn as 250 calories.
  • I've also read that the HRM isn't the most accurate for strength training. Even so, I'm about 185 lbs and only burn approximately 200 calories (according to my HRM) for less than an hour of ST. So 153 calories for 150 lb person isn't really that far off, I don't think. I would go with it for a couple of weeks and see what you think then. Good luck and let us know how you like CLX!

I've been doing Chalean for 90 days and I usually burn between 200-250 cal with my HRM on in about 35-45 min. of the strength training. I am 156 and 5"7'. I think your estimate is low. My heart rate sometimes gets to 170 lifting and only 150 with biking. Hope this helps!

I used a HRM during my last session and I couldn't believe my heart rate was higher than any elliptical/fake cardio stuff I made myself do! It was around 160! And I sweat like crazy, which I never did on the elliptical. I am guessing it's something like a 250-300 cal burn.

I have a bodybugg and my calorie burn is pretty low. I am 5'2, 132 pounds and burn approximately 3.5-4 calories per minute for each of the burn and push circuits. I did Lean Circuit 1 tonight and for the 45 minute video I only burned 171 calories.
