NSV! (...?)

I'm finishing up week 5 of reset, eating full TDEE of 2655 with 5-6 hours of strenuous activity. I am a cardio queen and my workouts consist of 5 hour-long cardio sessions at the gym a week. So far this week, I've taken one rest day (Monday). We have some friends coming in town this weekend, so I had planned to go to the gym today and take my second rest day tomorrow. As it stands, I've done 4 hours and 15 minutes of exercise at the gym this week, so I 'need' 45 minutes more.

But! I moved this week. From third floor to third floor, meaning for two entire days I packed boxes, lugged them up and down flights of stairs, and then unpacked. I'm not going to deny it: I am exhausted. The old VLCD girl is saying I need to go to the gym to get those 45 minutes in to reach my activity level and justify eating so much. And I almost listened to her - I'm talking workout clothes on, driving to the gym....and then I went to Whole Foods to pick up some groceries instead. And then stopped at Panera and got lunch. And then drove back home.

I am trying to 'allow' myself today as an extra rest day, which is where this NSV comes in - because, even though I wasn't in a gym, I think moving counts as a workout! Meaning I made my activity level for the week already...Right?

(I think I might be feeling so okay with this for three reasons: 1) it's 98 degrees outside and I just simply don't feel like going back outside; 2) I just downloaded The Sims and want to start playing it; and 3) if all else fails, and the guilt gets to me, I can always go to the gym tomorrow) ... but! Where it stands right now I think this is a pretty big NSV for me. Allowing myself a break and an extra day off (even though the amount of lugging boxes I did earlier this week probably more than counts for one of my cardio workouts) is a big deal :)

We are in the process of moving as well and it is hard work. I don't think you took an extra rest day-you just changed up your workout routine :). Relax and enjoy!
