Hello everyone!

So I have been on Atkins before and lost like 50 pounds (gained it back cause I had no goal in mind.) However, I really started thinking the most important thing is to be prepared! So, since induction is the toughest part, what recipes did you have during phase one that you could not live without?

I usually prepare steamed chicken breasts in a deep pan on the stove with garlic, a bit of olive oil and adobo seasoning. With that, I would have broccoli and a small pat of butter. That was what pulled me through induction (and is now). I would prepare LOTS of chicken for the week as snacks (yes, sometimes to munch on), for my salad and for quick breakfast omlettes I would make.

Share your phase one recipes (That are phase one friendly of course) and lets pull through this together!

I see myself 5 pounds lighter by next week :-))

I have been watching a lot of the YouTube cooking videos by bowulf. He does tons of low carb recipes- many of which are Induction friendly. I like trying new recipes to keep it interesting, but have a few standby meals that are just quick and easy to make.

    - Chicken Breast (I like mine smothered in cheese & carmalized onions) Sometimes I just grill a breast and crumble some goat cheese over the top.

    - Steaks (delicious w/sauted onions & mushrooms and a little garlic butter)

    - Bacon Cheeseburger w/slice of tomato & dill pickle, reduced sugar ketchup, mustard, and a dollup of mayo. (no bun of course)

    - Stuffed Burgers (Make 2 thinner burger patties. Lay one down and put a pile of spinach and feta in the middle. *Or whatever other yummy goodness you might like inside a burger. Bacon/Cheddar, mushrooms/swiss... whatever* Lay the other on top and pinch it closed). Grill it and voila!

    - Taco Salad (all the ingredients of tacos - no shell. I make my own seasoning since the store bought has sugar in it) I'll wrap it in a lettuce leaf or just eat it with a fork.

    - Chicken or beef fajita (all the ingredients, but no wrap. I make my own seasoning here too. )

    - Gyro- Again no wrap... just all the ingredients (including the cucumber dill sauce) on a plate with a fork.

There really is a great variety of main course induction friendly foods. I just keep surfing and have come up with some fabulous ideas!

I like eating bacon for breakfast, im not into eggs. I love bacon double cheeseburgers. i read a reciepe online that u take chicken and dip it into eggs (that have been scrambled up) then take the chickn covered in egg roll it in parmasan cheese then fry it. Its suppose to be like a mock fried chicken, but i havent' tried it yet.

Also, its not a reciepe but today I tried the Atkins Edulge Caramel Nut Chew Bar..... it was GOOD! It taste ALMOST like a snickers. lol

The all-time greatest Atkins recipe site is genaw.com/lowcarb. Just look for the recipes marked by a * as Induction-friendly. She includes pictures and comments, things she'll do differently next time, and ratings. I've made all of her 4 and 5 star induction recipes and they are amazing!!!

not everyone can eat the endulge bars. since they're just candy (and not allowed on phase one) they contain a ton of sugar alcohols, which can make people stall.
it's best to stay away from processed "atkins" products until you're close to goal weight.

    FRIED "RICE"

10-15 ounces fresh cauliflower, grated, about 1/2 head
    2 cloves garlic, minced
Cooking oil, 2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup
    1/4 cup soy sauce
    1 teaspoon sesame oil
    1 egg, beaten
    3 green onions, chopped
    Dash pepper, optional

Heat the oil in a wok or large non-stick skillet on medium to medium-high. Add the cauliflower and garlic; stir-fry until the cauliflower is nearly tender, but not mushy. Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Push the cauliflower to one side of the pan; pour in the beaten egg. Lightly scramble the egg briefly then mix into the cauliflower. Add the green onion and pepper, if using, and toss.

    Makes 4-6 servings

Thanks for this recipe I look forward to trying it ASAP. I have been using miracle rice made with Shirataki but this sounds even better.

Everyone in my opinion is unique you just have to try it to see if it affects your weight loss. I was on induction for 3 weeks 20 carbs or less and had the carb flu the entire time. I ate the Atkins endulge bars and it never stalled the weight loss. I still eat them they taste great and without the bars for me low carb lifestyle is harder.

I suggest you make your own decision.
I did not do the shakes because I use Jay Robb protein whey shakes 1 carb and worth it with Stevia has a sweetener.
I forgot to mention during induction I also used low carb Dream Field Pasta 2 oz a day and it never stalled my weight loss, the starch blocker worked for me. I know the pasta does not work for everyone.

wow, you read my mind. i took out two burgers to thaw for supper. was thinking . . . now what? bacon and cheese, please. thanks!

I use coconut oil instead of egg on pork chops. Rub on both sides then a light parm cheese coating on both sides and edges. Then I top it off with a lot of garlic salt. Tastes great.

p.s. eggs would work, too but I need more fat in my ratios. I bake it but you could fry , too
