primal and calories

I just started following the Primal Blueprint and have a question. If I am suppose to eat when hungry and stop when satisfied, can I stop obsessing about meeting calories? I just ate a very filling nutritious dinner and according to Mfp's recipe maker, 1 serving was only 148 calories! There is no way I am going to get to my recommended cals today without doing something drastic, like drinking olive oil or eating butter! I am full.

My recommendation is to ignore calories and eat as you see fit. Do make sure you ate gettting enough protein and keeping you carb count under control. But total calories, ignore if they say you ate not eating enough or eating too much.

I agree with Mike, at least within reason. For example, if you're supposed to consume 2500 calories, and you're only getting 800, then you probably should eat more. If, however, you're eating 1500, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Before I started with Primal, I found it hard to eat fewer than 2000 calories, but since I started, as long as I keep my carbs under control and get at least reasonably close to my other macros, I'm often satisfied on around 1600.
