Hello all. I have this book on hold at the library and am waiting patiently for it to come in. I don't want to purchase it yet, as I don't know if this is something I can do at home. We have a small weight bench, and excuse my ignorance, but not even sure what kind of weights are with it.

My question is, how many of you do this home? I'm totally ignorant of lifting and am so hoping this is something I can do in my home.

I do it at home, recommended is an Olympic bar, the one that is 2" diameter bar ends, but a standard 1" bar will be OK to start you off, depending on its weight limit. Weights for the bar I would say you need around 45kg or 100lb of weights to start off with.

A squat rack or stands, you will soon reach a limit of what you can clean and press over your head to squat with.

Dumbbells, ideally changeable weight ones, a 30kg set is what I bought which is around 65lbs I think

    A Swiss/medicine ball

A bench or high step, ideally something that will make your thigh parallel to the floor when your foot is on it, something like an adjustable aerobic step so you can change the height of it. If not a bench and a normal step will do.

There are some exercises that require a cable machine but the book explains some replacement exercises for these, they are not as good as the actual cable exercises but they do the job, or you can try resistance bands for these if you have them already.

    An incline weight bench

Hope that helps, don't think I have missed anything :)
