Hi Guys,

I started today...did Day 1 this morning...but because it was such an early morning workout and I had to go to work after..I didn't eat anything...not sure if it was purely the workout or the lack of food contributed but a couple of times i had to stop...i felt so light headed and upset and thought I was gonna pass out!

Would like to get some ideas on what I should eat (or IF i should) before the workout...thanks!

I don't have great advice for you since I'm not a morning workout kind of person. But for me, I have to eat at least a little something... whether it's a few cheese and crackers or PB with an apple about an hour before I work out. Otherwise I know the feeling of hitting the wall, where you feel like your body is about to collapse.

So, I'm sure you probably don't want to get up even earlier to workout... but maybe if you had just an apple or banana? 50-100 calories, and something light in the stomach so you don't run into the same trouble again. And then make sure you eat right after you workout.

Good luck! I just finished day 19, dripping in sweat... it's time for a shower!

You definitely need to eat something before working out, especially since you doing insainity. When you wake up in the morning your glycogen stores are very low since you have been sleeping for the past 8 hours and haven't eaten anything. Eat something small like a granola bar, apple, banana, orange, anyhting like that. This will give you more energy for your workout, and in the end give you better results! Good luck with completing Insanity! I am on the last week of month 2, it's crazy!

Thanks u guys...I think a banana or apple sounds like a good idea...will try it out and see how I feel...thanks!

Btw..you guys have gotten so far already doing the Insanity program...that's awesome...how is it going? Have you been noticing any changes so far?

@nikig7 - I'm loving the workouts and still find it very challenging, even at the end of my 3 weeks. I can't say I'm noticing changes though so far. I weigh myself every day (not that i record it though) and there's been no change, but i'm within about 5-10 pounds of where i want to stay. I did measure my waist the other day though and have lost 1.5" there. so that's something i guess! i'm not going to put too much pressure to have amazing results though as I know it gets tougher when you're close to being done with weight loss and move on to toning. plus i'm kinda lazy about my eating habits on weekends especially so i'm sure that doesn't help!

Keep going with it though! It's a killer workout every day! I still don't get bored of it! :)

I workout first think in the morning and don't eat till after. I just drink a chocolate protein shake after the workout it it helps alot. Plus drinking the water to keep you dehydrated.

Ok cool thanks....doing my workout this afternoon because I was so tired this morning but I think from tomorrow I'll go back to doing it in the mornings...I'm afraid that I'll talk (make excuses) myself out of doing it if I don't get it done first thing!

I eat a LOT of protein throught out the day....it's the majority of what I eat. I don't eat before I exercise, especially INSANITY because I will puke, and I don't want to do that...lol.

So, it's 1 cup of coffee for me

    INSANITY

    2 eggs
    1 turkey burger
    1/4 cup colby jack cheese.

    Good Omlet!!

24 grams of protein gone in one shot!!

I try and stop eating at 7pm, with my 6pm dinner consisting of a lot of protein as it's digested slower.

I will say that I'm starving when I'm done exercising that's for sure!
